Cross-reacting tumor-specific transplantation of antigens in tumors induced by adenoviruses, 3, 14, and 12.

چکیده
The cross-reactivity between the tumor-specific trans plantation antigen of tumors induced by adenovirus types 3 and 14, on one hand, and type 12, on the other, was investigated by testing immunosensitivity and immunogenicity. It was found that (a) serum of mice im munized against syngeneic adeno 12 tumors was cytotoxic to hamster adeno 14 and adeno 3 tumor cells, but not to BHK-C13 control cells, as demonstrated by ''Cr-cyto-

Tumor-specific transplantation antigens in reticulum cell sarcomas and lymphomas induced by the friend virus complex.
The reticulum cell sarcomas induced by Friend leukemia virus (FLV) and the lymphomas induced by the Friend virus-associated lymphatic leukemia virus (LLV) have been investigated for both their antigenic relationships and the presence in them of common tumor-specific transplantation antigens. Since noninfectious reticulum cell sarcomas contain ing the Friend virus genome were available, this was...
متن کاملAdenovirus tumor-specific transplantation antigen is a function of the E1A early region
Viable recombinant adenoviruses that carry a portion of the type 12 E1A and E1B transcription units in a type 5 background were used to identify genes controlling expression of the adenovirus tumor-specific transplantation antigen (TSTA). The TSTA immunity is not crossreacting between the group A and group C adenovirus serotypes. Viruses carrying the E1A region (sub370-12E1A), or both E1A and E...
متن کاملIn Vitro Demonstration of Humoral and Cell-bound Immunity against Common Specific Transplantation Antigen(s) of Adenovirus 12-induced Mouse and Hamster Tumors
A colony inhibition (CI) technique was used to demonstrate in vitro tumor-specific antigenicity common for neoplasms induced by the adenovirus type 12. Immunization of mice against syngeneic mouse adeno 12 tumor cells evoked immunity demonstrable against other adeno 12 neoplasms of mice and of hamster as well. The immunity was detected as antibody activity in the sera of specifically immunized ...
متن کاملTumor-secific immunity to chemically induced tumors. Evidence for immunologic specificity and shared antigenicity in lymphocyte responses to soluble tumor antigens
Experiments were designed to explore the apparent paradox that methylcholanthrene-induced tumors of mice evoke tumor-unique transplantation immunity but reveal almost complete cross-reacting antigenicity in tests of lymphocyte behavior in vitro. The approach involved use of tumor membranes solubilized in 3 M KCl, employed both as the stimulating antigen source in a new in vitro proliferation as...
متن کاملOn the Nature of Transplantation Immunity in the Adenovirus Tumor System
The existence of a virus-induced, virus-specific transplantation, antigen in adenovirus 12-induced CBA mouse tumors was demonstrated. The antigen is virus-specific, but not related to structural virion or T antigens. It is a weak antigen, and required immunization with whole, infectious adenovirus 12 to produce considerable immunity. Comparable immunity could not be achieved with homologous cel...
